Wedding trends we hope to see more of in 2015

So 2014 is drawing to end and as we move into 2015 its time for a bit of reflection. Well it’s what I find myself doing.

What have we seen this year?

We saw more weddings taking place in one location. This is such a stress free approach to a wedding day and documenting in photographs makes for a much more cohesive story. It makes more sense to us as storytellers when the Getting ready, Wedding ceremony, Location photos and Reception takes place in one superb location.

Take Tatra in the Dandenongs for example. The Chapel onsite is gorgeous, light and and airy. The grounds are expansive, and I mean REALLY EXPANSIVE. There are no limits to amazing photo locations to be had and plenty of room for your guests to mingle and take in the surroundings.

There is a cohesiveness to the story that you don’t get if the locations are all over the city and it seems that a lot of couples this year opted out of the “standards” (Hosier Lane, Parliament House, The Barracks, Treasury GardensSt Pauls, to name a few) and had a day that was truly unique to them.

Here’s a few standout locations/areas that suit this approach.

The Yarra Valley – Gorgeous anywhere.

The Dandenongs – Hard to beat are Chateau Wyunna, Tatra, Lyrebird Falls, Marybooke Manor.

The City – Leonda by the Yarra (an absolute favourite of ours due in no small part to their professionalism), Rippon Lea Estate.
